چکیده

InSAR data acquired from independent overlapping tracks can be exploited for a reliability assessment of the Persistent Scatterer InSAR (PS-InSAR) technique. Here we present a mathematical framework for the datum connection of multiple tracks, simultaneously evaluating the precision and reliability of PS-InSAR estimates. This datum connection can be subdivided in two steps. Firstly, the PS locations are converted to a common radar coordinate system: the geometry of the so-called ’master track’. The second step consists of the connection of the PS-InSAR parameter estimates (velocities, displacements, heights). Since each track has its own reference PS, the transformation is parameterized as a translation, which can be optionally extended with a trend in range and azimuth direction due to unmodeled residual effects. Multi-track datum connection has been applied in the Groningen region, the Netherlands, which is affected by subsidence due to gas extraction with displacement rates up to 7 mm/year. The main reservoir is (partly) visible in 6 independent overlapping ERS tracks (ascending and descending). Utilizing the different viewing geometries, the connected PSInSAR estimates could be further decomposed into horizontal and vertical displacement rates.

Geodetic network design for InSAR: Application to ground deformation monitoring

We propose a novel geodetic network design method for InSAR that determines the minimum number and optimal locations of in situ devices for monitoring a deforming area within desired quality constraints (precision, reliability, economy). From field experiments, the use of low-cost active radar transponders has been validated, and their measurement precision estimated. The proposed design algori...

A Review of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture RADAR (InSAR) Multi-Track Approaches for the Retrieval of Earth’s Surface Displacements

Synthetic Aperture RADAR Interferometry (InSAR) provides a unique tool for the quantitative measurement of the Earth’s surface deformations induced by a variety of natural (such as volcanic eruptions, landslides and earthquakes) and anthropogenic (e.g., ground-water extraction in highly-urbanized areas, deterioration of buildings and public facilities) processes. In this framework, use of InSAR...

1 Utilization of Parallelization Algorithms in Insar / Ps - Insar Processing

This study describes a method for InSAR/PS-InSAR processing using parallelization algorithms. The InSAR/PS-InSAR processing chain is analyzed from the aspect of the computational load, which results in a specific parallelization model. The theoretical concept for the porting of Delft Object-oriented Radar Interferometric Software (Doris) into a parallel computational environment is described. T...

The SARPROZ InSAR tool for urban subsidence/manmade structure stability monitoring in China

In this work we introduce a very flexible research tool for processing Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data. The software, called SARPROZ, is able to perform different multi-temporal analysis like Permanent Scatterers (PS), Quasi-PS (QPS) and much more. SARPROZ has been intensively used for analyzing several test-sites in China with different spaceborne SAR data. Here we show r...
